A Message from Dr. Lisa Nguyen, MD
Hello future patient,
Recently, I have been remembering why I chose a path in medicine years ago. I was asked by a patient and my reflex answer was something you’d expect of any doctor: I wanted to treat disease and help people feel better. Then I realized this answer was from practicing medicine in the corporate world, trained to focus on insurance rules and business metrics! I had to dig deeper. I went into medicine, family medicine, because I feel passionately about collaborating with patients to optimize health and maintain wellness. Although I do like to treat disease and help people feel better, I now want to use all of the tools I have learned along the way. Being trained in Western medicine, I know and appreciate the value of its diagnostics and therapies. Thinking holistically, I also want to incorporate alternative treatments, including supplements, nutrition, behavioral health and medical acupuncture. Direct primary care is a welcome change from the world of business in medicine, where more meant more patients, more restrictions, more admin work, more costs. Here, the focus is on you, because with more time, we can build more trust, and achieve more wellness. As I embark on this new chapter of my medical practice, I look forward to making this journey with you, forging a healthier path for both of us. Dr. Lisa |
